The Palmetto Fellows Scholarship is South Carolina's most selective state merit award. Freshman-year funding is up to $6,700 and sophomore through senior years up to $7,500 each, for a maximum of $30,700 across four years. There are two application rounds. Early award applicants must either (a) score at least 1200 SAT or 27 ACT by the November administration, hold a 3.5 cumulative GPA on the SC Uniform Grading Policy at the end of junior year, and rank in the top 6 percent of the class at the end of sophomore or junior year, or (b) score at least 1400 SAT or 32 ACT by November with a 4.0 cumulative GPA. Final award applicants must score at least 1200 SAT or 27 ACT by the June administration of senior year, hold a 3.5 cumulative GPA at the end of senior year, and rank in the top 6 percent at the end of sophomore, junior or senior year. The high school submits the application, not the student.
