About this scholarship

The Colorado Second Chance Scholarship, administered by COSI, provides up to $5,000 per year (up to four years) toward the cost of education for Colorado residents who were released from a Division of Youth Services (DYS) commitment facility within the past five years and have financial need. Funds may cover tuition, fees, textbooks, room and board, transportation, and licensing/certification exam fees at approved Colorado institutions. Scholars also receive wraparound support (advising, financial-literacy programming, career support). Applications are submitted through the COSI Application Portal on a rolling, term-based deadline schedule.

Renewal terms: Up to 4 years; completers of a certificate/associate degree may request supplemental funding to continue, contingent on availability.
