The Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant provides up to $4,000 per year (reduced to about $3,772 for 2026-27 by sequestration) to students in participating teacher-preparation programs. Recipients sign an Agreement to Serve: teach full-time for at least 4 years in a high-need field at a low-income school within 8 years of finishing, or the grant converts to a Direct Unsubsidized Loan. Aggregate limits: $16,000 undergraduate, $8,000 graduate.
Renewal terms: Renewable annually via FAFSA while enrolled in a TEACH-eligible program; undergraduate aggregate cap $16,000.
