ASME Foundation Scholarships (Baccalaureate & Graduate)

Current ASME student members enrolled in an ABET-accredited mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology program (or a closely related major with at least 25% ME coursework), with at least one semester of postsecondary transcript. Awards marked "Global" have no citizenship restriction; some named awards are U.S.-only or geographically limited.

The ASME Foundation awards more than 150 scholarships each year to ASME student members pursuing mechanical engineering (ME) or mechanical engineering technology (MET) degrees at ABET-accredited institutions. A single Universal Application is automatically matched against roughly 35 distinct named funds, each with its own niche - class year, U.S.-only versus global eligibility, industry focus - ranging from $1,500 awards up to the $13,000 Kenneth Andrew Roe Scholarship for juniors and seniors. Funds are paid directly to the student's institution for the upcoming academic year. Applicants must be current dues-paying ASME student members (membership is free for first-year students, $25 otherwise) and have at least one semester of postsecondary transcript. Selection weighs leadership, academic record, financial need, and for some awards geography or citizenship. Results are announced by July 31 and checks are mailed to institutions by September 1.

Renewal terms: Some named awards are designated renewable by their donors; renewal terms vary by fund and are not published in aggregate. Most are one-time.
