AAUW Career Development Grant

Women who are U.S. citizens, nationals, or permanent residents (including U.S. territories), hold at least an associate's degree, and have applied or been accepted to an accredited certificate or training program in a field where women are under 50% of the workforce or of senior leadership. Not available for degree programs, post-baccalaureate programs, certificates embedded in a degree, or licensing exams. Preference may be given to first-generation graduates, caregivers, single parents, and applicants who have overcome significant barriers.

AAUW Career Development Grants invest up to $8,000 in women pursuing an accredited certificate or short-term training program needed to enter, transition into, or advance within a field where women make up less than 50% of the workforce - or less than 50% of senior leadership. Eligible fields include architecture, engineering, mathematics, natural and physical science, technology, executive leadership and management training, and other underrepresented areas such as business, finance, law, and applied trades. Applicants must identify as women, hold at least an associate's degree, and have applied or been accepted to a qualifying program. Importantly, the grant cannot be used for a bachelor's, master's, or other degree program, for a certificate embedded in a degree program, or for licensing exams. Applications are reviewed on a competitive bi-annual cycle, and funds may be used for tuition, fees, course materials, transportation, and dependent care.

Renewal terms: One-time award. Previous Career Development Grant recipients are not eligible to reapply.
